Short 757ski: A Tu-204-300 Wishlist

It isn’t often I get to do a wishlist for an aircraft that had only ten units built – perhaps there’s hope for a Dassault Mercure yet! Anyway the short version of the Tu-204 the Tu-204-300 (or Tu-234) has only worn a few liveries and here’s a comprehensive look at all of them – I think.

The majority of airline service for the Tu-204-300 was with Vladivostok Avia and since then almost all the units have served in a governmental capacity be that with the Russians or the North Koreans. As far as I can tell there are only 11 livery options:

Tupolev Airshow Colours

The prototype Tu-204-100 was seemingly shortened into the Tu-234. Here it is in 1995:

RA-64001 - Tu-234 - OKB Tupolev [Zhukowsky 8.95]

RA-64026 wore these colours in 2003 – now as a Tu-204-300

Vladivostok Avia

The far-eastern airline was the launch customer for the series 300 and operated 6 of the 10 aircraft built.

Air Koryo

The North Korean’s other Tu-204 is a short body version registered P-632. Like its longer sister it has worn all 3 scheme variants:

Air Koryo Tupolev Tu-204-300 P-632
P-632 Air Koryo Tu-204

Russian State Transport Company

The Russian State Transport arm fly a trio of the Tu-204-300s (RA-64059, RA-64057 and RA-64058)  – all delivered new:

RA-64059 Tupolev Tu-204-300 Rossiya - Special Flight Squadron

Roscosmos

The Russian Space Agency use this former Vladivostok Avia aircraft, RA-64044 and RA-64045, for cosmonaut training.

Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs

RA-64026 now finds herself in service with the shady sounding Ministry of Internal Affairs.
